INTERNATIONAL ROUTES
Routes from Poland, Germany, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria with the exact arrival station and connection options.
Ukrainian airports are not used for scheduled civilian flights. The flight option means flying to a neighbouring country and continuing overland.
Countries and entry points
Poland
Warsaw, Kraków, Przemyśl, Chełm, Wrocław, Rzeszów and Lublin
Poland is the main overland corridor to Ukraine. Przemyśl and Chełm are key rail gateways, while international buses also depart from large cities and airports.
Germany
Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Frankfurt
The main options run through Poland or Czechia. Rail trips usually connect in Warsaw, Chełm, Kraków or Przemyśl.
Czechia
Prague, Brno and Ostrava
Rail connections via Kraków and Przemyśl and international buses provide the main links from Czechia to western and central Ukraine.
Slovakia
Košice and Bratislava
Košice connects with the Transcarpathian hubs of Chop and Mukachevo. From Bratislava, options run via Košice, Chop or Budapest.
Hungary
Budapest, Nyíregyháza and Záhony
Budapest has a rail link with Kyiv; connections via Záhony, Chop and Mukachevo are useful for Transcarpathia.
Austria
Vienna and eastern Austria
Rail options from Vienna run via Budapest and Chop or through Prague, Kraków and Przemyśl.
Moldova
Chișinău and Bălți
Chișinău has a rail connection with Kyiv and bus links to Odesa and Chernivtsi. Always verify the actual border crossing point.
Romania
Iași, Suceava and Bucharest
International buses are commonly used for Chernivtsi and Odesa. Rail may require several connections, so a direct service should not be assumed from the route name.
Bulgaria
Sofia, Varna and Burgas
Routes are mainly by bus through Romania or Moldova. Rail requires a multi-leg itinerary that must be checked for every segment.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the city name alone insufficient?
A city may have several stations. Always match the full name and address with your ticket.
Is the timetable final?
No. International services change, so the operator’s timetable for your travel date is authoritative.
How should I choose a route with luggage or a child?
Prefer fewer connections and leave time for the border, platform changes and finding the boarding point.
Checked on 13 September 2026. Verify the timetable, boarding point and border procedure for your travel date.
